In a notice issued by Makawanpur Chief District Officer Basanta Raj Adhikari on Tuesday, it has been urged not to travel on the Kanti Lokpath (Hetauda-Kathmandu road section) from 5:00 pm on Ashad 16 and 17 to 5:00 am the next day.
According to the notice issued by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority regarding 'Request to adopt necessary precautions', there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in various parts of the country on Ashad 16 and 17, landslides, road blockages, mudflows, floods and rising water levels in the hills and mountains, the administration's notice said.
Urging people not to engage in risky activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, and river crossing in lakes, rivers, streams, and other reservoirs, the administration has asked people not to travel unnecessarily in areas at risk of landslides, floods, and inundation, river banks, and steep places, and to exercise special caution.
It has also been requested to follow official information on weather and road conditions and instructions issued by security agencies, travel only when it is safe, and to immediately inform the nearest security agency, local level, or the Emergency Operations Center at the District Administration Office on the toll-free number 1149 in the event of any disaster or emergency.
During the rainy season, security personnel may stop traffic on any road within the district for a certain period of time based on the assessment of the risk situation, and the administration has urged everyone to cooperate and coordinate in this work.
