Former president of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Karma Tshiring Sherpa has been arrested. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police has said that Sherpa was arrested on Friday from Ganeshchowk, Budhanilkantha 6, on charges of fraud and criminal breach of trust. A complaint was filed against Sherpa on charges of embezzling about Rs 87.8 million from Tungaram International Academy Pvt. Ltd. Police have said that an investigation into the crime of fraud and criminal breach of trust has been initiated based on a complaint filed by Ramchandra Bahala Shrestha, who was authorized by Tungaram International Academy Pvt. Ltd.

Sherpa is accused of using various tricks to benefit himself and his close associates and cause undue loss to the school while being responsible for operating the account with a single signature as the executive head of the school. He is accused of embezzling Rs 87.83 million from the school.

Similarly, he has also been accused of selling about 29 ropanis, 4 annas, 2 paisas, 1 daam of land belonging to the school in the former Dadhikot VDC-2 of Bhaktapur to his affiliated companies and purchasing land and vehicles in the names of individuals and affiliated companies from the money allocated for purchasing vehicles for the school. The police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
