Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal has claimed that not a single penny has been spent from the state treasury for the funds of cooperative victims. Minister Rawal's clarification comes at a time when there is talk of distributing funds to cooperative victims from the state treasury. Responding to a question raised by lawmakers on the appropriations related to her ministry in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, she urged lawmakers to get rid of the illusion that the funds have been provided to the victims of problematic cooperatives from the state treasury.
'Not a single penny has been spent from the state treasury of the Government of Nepal so far for the return of the savings of savers of problematic cooperatives. Therefore, I request all honorable members to get rid of the illusion that the state treasury has been spent for this purpose,' said Minister Rawal.
In the last 3 months alone, 5.946 million savings of 10,000 and 1,452 savers of 8 different problematic cooperatives have been returned, Minister Rawal informed. She also said that 35.449 crore loans have been recovered within 3 months.
