The Special Court has ordered the remand of former Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Sanjiv Gautam in a corruption case.
On Tuesday, a bench of Special Court Judges Narayan Prasad Poudel, Hemanta Rawal and Dilli Ratna Shrestha ordered the remand of Gautam. Gautam has been sent to jail with the court order.
He had appeared in court to give a statement in the case filed against him in the corruption case in the construction of Pokhara Airport. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a corruption case against Gautam along with the then Director General of CAN, Pradeep Adhikari.
The Authority had filed a case against Gautam, demanding imprisonment for recovering Rs 67.399 crore and 59 paisa. Earlier, the Special Court had also ordered the remand of the then Director General, Adhikari, in a remand. The court The verdict will be as decided, but the current one has been sent to detention, refusing to be released on bail or on a regular date.
