Thapa, who lived in Lolang Paiyutar, Tarakeswor Municipality-6, Kathmandu, was seriously injured when Bhujel hit her with the rod during a domestic dispute. Police have said that Bhujel died during treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.
Thapa has been arrested and kept at the Balaju Police Station, while further investigation into the incident is underway, according to police.
Thapa used to call himself a bodybuilder, while Bhujel was working in the Nepali Army.
