The Inter-Legislative Conference has begun in Tikapur, Kailali on Saturday. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of the National Assembly, the Speakers of the Provincial Assemblies, Deputy Speakers, the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament, the Secretary, and the Secretaries of the Provincial Assemblies are participating in the conference. The conference was inaugurated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal, Deputy Speaker Ruby Kumari Thakur, the President of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, and the Provincial Speakers are participating in the conference, said the Speaker of the Far Western Provincial Assembly, Bhim Bahadur Bhandari. ‘The Speakers of the 6 Provincial Assemblies, along with the heads and office bearers of the Federal Parliament, are participating in the conference,’ said Bhandari. ‘The General Secretary, Secretary, Secretaries of the Federal Parliament, Secretaries of the Provincial Assemblies, and experts are also participating.’ The conference was organized by the Inter-Legislative Forum.

The conference will discuss the role of the assembly in terms of exchanging experiences between the federal parliament and the provincial assemblies, strengthening the operation of the assembly, lawmaking, making the government accountable to the parliament, and the role of the parliament in budget preparation and implementation, according to the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly Secretariat. 'The discussion will focus on lawmaking and how to make the assembly more dignified and organized,' said Speaker Bhandari. 'There is also a schedule for experts to present working papers.' In addition, the secretariat has stated that after the inaugural session, separate groups of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and secretaries of the parliament will be formed to discuss.

The inter-legislative conference, which has been held in other provinces before, is being organized for the first time in Sudurpaschim.
