A police team deployed after receiving a tip-off about drug dealing has found an illegal elephant tusk.

The elephant tusk was also found by a team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, when they arrested a drug dealer in Manmaiju. ‘We arrested one person after finding 150 tramadol, and then a rare item was found during a search, although it is yet to be tested,’ he told Kantipur.

The officers involved in the investigation suspect that the item may have been stolen during the Gen-G movement. He said that an investigation is underway to find out where it was stolen from. ‘The arrested person is still at large, so detailed interrogation is yet to be conducted,’ Khadka said.

Based on initial inquiries, the police have received information that other parts of the elephant tusk are in the possession of different people. Based on that, the police say that some more people have also been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
