The heat has increased as the influence of the westerly wind is weakening. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that there is a possibility of a hot day in the Terai region of Madhesh and Koshi Provinces today. The department has also requested to adopt necessary precautions in those places.

The influence of the western low pressure line and local wind in the upper atmosphere is currently prevailing in Nepal. When the westerly wind became active, it was raining in various places in the country almost every day until a few days ago.

Senior Meteorologist of the department, Min Kumar Aryal, said that there is no possibility of heavy rain for two-three days as the rain system is weakening now. He said that there may be scattered rain in some places until tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

According to the department, today it will be generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly regions and partially cloudy in the Terai. There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rain/snowfall with thunder/lightning at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly regions and at one or two places in the Terai region of Lumbini and the far west.

The department has estimated that the maximum temperature in Simara this afternoon will be 36-38 degrees Celsius and in Biratnagar and Janakpur 37-39 degrees Celsius.

Climatologist Dharmaraj Upreti has mentioned that there is a possibility of less rain and more heat as the pre-monsoon activity in the Terai will decrease again. 'This will affect schools, people involved in agricultural work, women in the risk group, children, and laborers,' he wrote on social media.
