According to Ramkrishna Lamichhane, Director General of the Department of Tourism, a new record has been set in climbing Mount Everest this time. Khimlal Gautam, coordinator of the temporary field office established on Mount Everest, informed that 1,08 people have successfully climbed Mount Everest as of Friday morning.
'1,08 climbers have successfully climbed Mount Everest under this year's spring climbing season,' Gautam told Kantipur at a program organized at the National Theatre on the occasion of the 73rd Everest Day.
The department has stated that this year's Everest climbing has also set records in the number of permits, collection of salute fees and participation of climbing teams. The department had issued permits to 496 people to climb Mount Everest.
