The budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 is to be presented from the multi-purpose hall of the parliament. Ekram Giri, spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat, has said that although preparations are underway to hold a joint meeting in the House of Representatives room of the new building, the budget will be presented from the multi-purpose hall as the finishing touches have not been completed yet.
He also said that due to lack of space, officials of constitutional bodies, high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, and heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal have not been invited to the joint meeting where the budget will be presented.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat has completed preparations for Friday's joint meeting where the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure (budget) for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 will be presented. A joint meeting has been held at 4 pm on Friday in the multi-purpose hall where the House of Representatives is currently meeting in the under-construction Parliament building in Singha Durbar. In the same meeting, Dr. Swarnim Wagle is presenting the budget.
Members of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly have been informed to take their seats ahead of time.
