The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against three government witnesses for changing their statements.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption case against government witnesses Prahlad Gautam, Biplav Pokhrel and Rajesh Shrestha in a special court on Tuesday for changing their statements in the case of corruption by accepting bribes by Dhundiraj Dahal.
A sum of Rs 56,350 has been demanded against Pokhrel, Rs 37,500 against Gautam and Rs 27,350 against Shrestha.
Although all three were found guilty of bribing the defendant Dahal, the Commission has stated that they were not made defendants under the Prevention of Corruption Act-2059 as they cooperated with the investigation officer during the investigation.
However, the chargesheet of the Commission states that it was confirmed that the statements made to the investigation officer during the deposition on Baisakh 25 in the special court were made in a manner that contradicted them.
