The number of people visiting Chitwan National Park starts to decrease after Chaitra. But this year, more people have visited Chitwan National Park in Baisakh compared to Chaitra. Avinash Thapa Magar, the park's information officer, said that a total of 29,740 people, including domestic, foreign and SAARC countries, visited the park in Baisakh last year. This number of people visiting the park in Baisakh is the highest in three years.

Usually, the number of people visiting Chitwan National Park is high in Kartik. It is seen in the park's details that after winter, the number of people visiting the park increases in Chaitra. Last Kartik, 32,252 people visited the park. After that, the number decreased and reached 27,405 in Falgun. It decreased further to 25,985 in Chaitra. But it has increased again in Baisakh.

In Baisakh of the fiscal year 2080/81, there were 26,630 people visiting the park. That year, 34,419 people visited the park in Chaitra. In Baishakh of 2081/82, 22,777 people visited the park. The previous month, the number of people entering the park in Chaitra was 25,422. In the current fiscal year, more tourists have visited in Baishakh than in Chaitra.

Most of the tourists are domestic. Compared to Chaitra, the number of tourists from SAARC countries visiting the park in Baishakh has decreased slightly. Foreign tourists have increased slightly. Foreign tourists came in Chaitra at 9,717 and in Baishakh at 9,881. SAARC countries came in Chaitra at 2,344 and in Baishakh at an even lower rate of 1,813. In Chaitra, 13,924 Nepalis visited the park. This number reached 18,046 in Baishakh.

After Kartik, Nepalis have visited the park in Baishakh the most. According to the park office, 19,109 Nepalis visited the park in Kartik. After that, it decreased and further decreased in Chait. The government has now decided to give two days off on Saturday and Sunday. Tourism entrepreneurs have experienced that the holiday, which began to reduce fuel consumption, has had a positive impact on tourism.

Sauraha-based tourism and hotel entrepreneur Jitu Tamang says that the two-day holiday has had a positive impact. ‘Earlier, when the holiday was only on Saturday, people used to come on Friday afternoon and return on Saturday. We used to think that many guests would come on Friday. This time, people will come on Saturday, not Friday, because of the two-day holiday,’ said Tamang. He said that they usually come early on Saturday and return on Sunday afternoon.

Tamang says that the New Year will have an impact at the beginning of Baisakh. This time, it is not very hot because it is raining almost every day. ‘Nepalese people come in large numbers especially in Asoj, Kartik, Mangsir and Poush. There are many foreigners in Magh, Falgun and Chait. "From April to September, there were fewer tourists than at other times," said Tamang, who is also a nature guide. He says that this time, the number of Nepalis was good in Jestha as well.

Chitwan National Park is the country's first national park. Chitwan is the country's main destination for tourists who want to observe wildlife. The park is home to many animals such as the rare one-horned rhinoceros and the black tiger. The culture of the indigenous Tharu, Bote, Kumal and Darai communities around the park has also attracted tourists. Elephant safaris, jungle jeep safaris, jungle walks and boat safaris are the main tourist activities here. According to the park's statistics, around three lakh tourists from home and abroad visit the park every year.
