India's National Security Guard (NSG) 'Black Cats' Everest Expedition 2026 has successfully scaled the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. The team reached the summit at 3:26 am on Friday.
The 16-member NSG team was led by Lieutenant Colonel Ramchandra Thapa, while Major Akhilesh Bhatt was the climbing leader. The expedition was supported by a Nepali Sherpa team. The team has said that it completed the climb of Mount Everest in just 20 days after departing from Kathmandu, which is remarkable.
According to Thaneshwor Guragain, General Manager of Seven Summit Treks, completing the expedition in 20 days after departing from Kathmandu is a great achievement in itself.
The expedition was directly coordinated and managed by Chang Dawa Sherpa from the beginning. Mingma Thinduk Sherpa led the team as the expedition leader. The Indian NSG members who scaled Mount Everest were Major Akhilesh Bhatt (climbing leader), Bavinder Singh, Bhupendra Singh, Pankaj Singh Dosad, Rahul Singh, Ravinder Singh, Satish Kumar, Sonu, Sulinder Singh and Suresh Kumar.
They were assisted by Nepali Sherpa guides Mingma Thinduk Sherpa, Danuru Sherpa, Lakpa Temba Sherpa, Ngima Dorchi Sherpa, Ming Dorchi Sherpa, Pemba Sherpa, Lakpa Tendu Sherpa, and Furtenji Sherpa.
