The Supreme Court has ordered a bail of Rs 50 lakh from former minister Rajkumar Gupta. The Supreme Court ordered a bail demand for former minister Gupta, who was detained by a special court order in the Litchibari land case in Pokhara, on 22nd Jestha. The bench of Justice Sharanga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel quashed the special court order and ordered the release of Ranjita Shrestha and others on bail and ordered Gupta to be released on bail. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against Gupta and two former ministers in the special court on 22nd Asoj 2002, alleging that a bribe of Rs 7.8 million had been exchanged in the Litchibari land case in Batulechaur, Pokhara. The Supreme Court's order states that the special order should not be changed in the case of other defendants as it is not seen that the special order has been revoked.
