Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has issued a show cause order in the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court, alleging that he may be arrested in a money laundering case.
A single bench of Justice Meghraj Pokharel has summoned the government and Deuba for discussion on 11 Jestha and refused to issue an interim order. The order to call the government for discussion said that it was necessary to examine the procedures adopted in the investigation file and reach a conclusion whether or not an interim order should be issued.
The order said that considering due process of law and jurisdiction, it is necessary to conclude the discussion on the interim order as soon as possible and reach a conclusion. The Supreme Court has also ordered the removal of the money laundering file against Deuba from the bench.
