Police have seized 590 cartons of Chinese electric (vapes) from Eklebhatti in Lomanthang Rural Municipality-4 of the district.
According to Armed Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Bishnu Prasad Bhatta, three people, along with other goods and containers, were seized on the night of Baisakh 1.
Those arrested include Santosh Lama of Dhunibeshi Municipality-1 in Dhading, Funchudorje Tamang of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 in Sindhupalchowk, and his friend Pasang Sherpa of the same Rural Municipality-3.
They were coming towards Kathmandu via the Korola border crossing in containers with numbers Na 6 Kha 4743 and Na 5 Kha 7921. They were seized along with the goods by a joint team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Border Out Post Nechung, Nepal Police and Mustang Customs Office.
The seized items include 259 cartons of shoes from various companies, 8 bags of socks, 15 bags of clothes and 15 kg empty carton boxes (boxes used for packing goods), including electric vape. The seized items have been handed over to the Nepal Police for necessary action and the seized items have been handed over to the Mustang Customs Office.
