World-renowned Norwegian climber Kristin Harila successfully climbed Mount Nuptse (7,855 meters) on Sunday morning in collaboration with Nepali mountain guide Mingtemba Sherpa.

According to Seven Summit Treks, she climbed Mount Nuptse as part of her ambitious ‘Triple Crown’ expedition.

The expedition aims to climb Mount Everest, Lhotse and Mount Nuptse in a single continuous effort. With the successful ascent of Nuptse, the team will now move on to the remaining two giant mountains in the next few days.

The ‘Triple Crown’ expedition is considered one of the rarest and most challenging achievements in high-altitude mountaineering. The historic expedition is being managed and organized by Nepali agency  Seven Summit Treks.

According to Kristin Harila's official website, Kristin Harila, born on March 28, 1986 in Vadso, Norway, is from the indigenous 'Sami' community there.

Before taking up mountaineering, she was a professional cross-country skier and worked as a manager in a prestigious company.

She left her corporate job in 2019 to dedicate herself fully to mountaineering and adventure. Since then, she has set several world records in mountaineering history one after another.

Kristin and Mingtemba Sherpa are among the few and best climbers to have climbed all 14 mountains above 8,000 meters in the world.

Kristin, along with her climbing partner Tengen (Lama) Sherpa, set a world record in 2023 by climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 meters in just 92 days. Previously, the record was in the name of Nirmal Purja. In 2019, Nepali climber Nirmal Purja set a world record by climbing 14 mountains above 8,000 meters in 6 months.

She is also the world's fastest female climber to climb Mount Everest and Lhotse in less than 8 hours.

She also holds the record for the fastest climber to climb the world's five highest mountains, including Mount Everest, in just 69 days.

In 2023, her beloved climbing partner Tengen Lama Sherpa died in an avalanche on the Shishapang mountain. In his memory, Christine has established the 'Lama Sherpa Foundation'.

The foundation has been working for the welfare and support of workers and climbing support staff in the Himalayan region.
