A person claiming to be a Genji activist has been arrested on charges of threatening Ward Secretary Kamal Bhandari of Dallu Municipality-13 in Dailekh. The District Police Office, Kathmandu, has arrested 22-year-old Prakash Khadka from Shankhamul.

A Kathmandu Police officer said that he was taken into custody for investigation on charges of using abusive language to threaten and create fear among employees by claiming to have called from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

The audio of the threat to Ward Secretary Bhandari was made public on social media on Saturday morning. After the video went viral, the Prime Minister's Office issued a statement stating that it had directed an investigation.

Khadka had initially requested that a 'recommendation' letter be prepared. After Bhandari said that it would be done as per the procedure, he used abusive language. The police have said that they will take a statement and investigate the matter in detail.
