With the government reducing the number of ministries to 18, President Ram Chandra Poudel has reshuffled the cabinet. Along with this, Prime Minister Balendra Shah has also kept the ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation along with Defense and Home.
Dr. Swarnim Wagle has retained the Finance, Shishir Khanal the Foreign Affairs, and Birajbhakta Shrestha the Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation ministries. Sunil Lamsal has been given the Infrastructure Development Ministry.
Sobita Gautam has retained the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Khadakraj Poudel the Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Bikram Timilsina the Information and Communication.
Geeta Chaudhary remains the Minister of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, Gauri Kumari the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, and Ramji Yadav the Minister of Youth, Labor and Employment. Sita Badi has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security.
