President Ram Chandra Poudel has appointed Prakash Adhikari as the Secretary of the House of Representatives on the recommendation of Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal. Speaker Aryal had recommended Adhikari to President Ram Chandra Poudel on Wednesday morning to appoint him as the Secretary of the House of Representatives. Speaker Aryal recommended Adhikari's name after replacing Secretary of the House of Representatives Harkaraj Rai. The Secretary of the House of Representatives is a constitutional post. As per the provisions of Article 106 of the Constitution, the Secretary of the House of Representatives is appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Speaker. Adhikari is a permanent resident of Khandbari Municipality in Sankhuwasabha. He has a master's degree in rural development from Tribhuvan University and has studied a master's degree in international trade and economic partnership from a university in South Korea.
He retired from the post of Deputy Secretary after working in the civil service for 24 years.
