The government is set to take action against those charging excessive service fees to workers going for foreign employment in the coming fiscal year.
Presenting the policies and programs for the fiscal year 2083/84, President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that foreign employment will be made safe, systematic and profitable, and action will be taken against excessive service fees and labor exploitation.
He said that a separate service will be provided for those going for foreign employment.
‘Destination countries that offer high wages will be diversified through labor diplomacy. A remittance investment fund will be operated to transform remittances into productivity through consumption,’ he said, ‘Rescue and welfare programs will be strengthened for the families of workers who died and were injured abroad.’
He said that the policy is to operate an internal employment promotion program to transform foreign employment from compulsion to an alternative.
