The Supreme Court has issued an interim order on a writ petition filed against the government's decision to remove squatter settlements. A bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Nityanand Pandey issued the interim order in the name of the government on Friday.

The Supreme Court issued the interim order after holding a second hearing on a writ petition filed by Gopal Ranpaheli, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi and Majid Ansari, who are living in the squatter settlements. The Supreme Court has stated that a detailed order will be issued shortly.
