The government has invited applications for the vacant posts of vice-chancellors of eight different universities.
‘The Selection and Recommendation Committee formed to recommend names for the appointment of vice-chancellors of various universities issued a notice on Friday and invited applications.
The committee has invited applications for the posts of vice-chancellors of Tribhuvan University, Purbanchal University, Pokhara University, Lumbini Buddhist University, Agriculture and Forestry University, Madhya Paschim University, Sudurpaschim University and Rajarshi Janak University.
Interested and eligible persons can apply through the link on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology within 10 days from the date of publication of the notice, the ministry has said.
The procedure for selecting vice-chancellors has also been posted on the ministry’s website.
After the government revoked the appointments of about 1,500 appointed by the previous government through an ordinance, there are vacancies in all universities, including vice-chancellors.
The recommendation committee formed under the leadership of Education Minister Sasmit Pokharel includes Education Secretary Chudamani Poudel. And Resu Aryal Dhugana, the member overseeing education in the National Planning Commission, is a member.
