The Constitutional Council has recommended the name of Manoj Kumar Sharma as the 33rd Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The council meeting held on Thursday under the leadership of Prime Minister Balendra Shah recommended Sharma's name.
Sharma was born on June 18, 1970 (June 18, 2027) in Birgunj, Parsa. He received his BL degree from Nepal Law Campus in Kathmandu and his LLM degree from Pune University, India.
He received his PhD in labor law from Tribhuvan University.
He was registered as an advocate in 2052 and is active in advocacy. He has also provided legal advice to various companies and organizations.
He has experience of working as an additional judge in the Appellate Courts in Butwal and Patan from 2070 Jestha 27 to 2072 Mangsir 26.
He was appointed as a permanent judge of the Supreme Court on 6 Baisakh 2076. Five years later, he was recommended as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
