A storm accompanied by rain on Sunday evening around 6 pm has damaged more than two dozen houses in Salyan. The storm has made it uninhabitable by blowing off the tin roofs of more than two dozen houses.
According to the District Police Office, Salyan, the storm has blown off the tin roofs of a school, two health institutions and the rest of the houses of locals. According to the office's Information Officer, Police Inspector Purna Bahadur KC, the wind blew off the roof of the Trij Secondary School building in Bangad Kupinde Municipality-5, the vegetable growing tunnel used by students of the crop science group, the health post in Jhimpe Jayachaur of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-4, the roof of the quarter building of the District Hospital Salyan, and damaged the houses of Ganesh Dangi of Kalimati Rural Municipality-5, Tari Roka of Sharada Municipality-13, Chhabilal Rawat, Geeta KC of Ward No. 1 Sukkhola, Bishnukumari Budha of Ward No. 14, Nandalal Wali of Bagchaur Municipality-2 Kharibot, Neem Bahadur Dangi of 43, Rajkumar Pun of Bangad Kupinde Municipality-5, and Nandalal Rana. 
It has been raining since Monday morning and the roofs of schools, health institutions and houses of the general public that were blown away by the wind could not be repaired immediately, so all the materials inside the houses have become wet and useless. Not only that, after the roof of the building in Trijma High School was blown away by the wind, teaching and services at the health post in Jayachaur, Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-4 have been affected. Locals who are unable to stay at home after the roof was blown away are taking shelter with relatives and neighbors. Although the wind damaged the buildings, there was no human loss, informed District Police Office Salyan Information Officer KC.
Ward Chairman of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-4 Chhabilal Khatri said that the health post services were affected after the roof was blown away. He said that the roofs of more than 10 houses across the ward were blown away.
Ghamand Prakash Khadka, coordinator of the Disaster Management Committee of Darma Rural Municipality, said that the windstorm that accompanied the rain damaged the houses of some residents of Ward No. 2 and 5. He said that some are living in houses belonging to relatives and others are in risky conditions after the wind blew off the roof. The Agricultural Development Office, Salyan, has stated that the windstorm that accompanied the rain has greatly affected the fruits including oranges and aap growing in the farmers' gardens.
