In the process of 'removing unorganized settlements' along the banks of the rivers in Kathmandu, the government has been driving a dozer in areas such as Bansighat, Shankhamul, and other areas near Balkhu and Teku since Friday morning.
On Wednesday, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had issued a notice asking people to evacuate the settlements. After the notice, many people had started vacating their homes on their own.
As before, the settlements have been demolished by using dozers amidst a tight security cordon. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Municipal Police have been deployed at the scene.
