Even though the collection of details had been stopped, when the Kantipur team reached the stadium on Thursday, the belongings of the displaced were scattered. There was neither a desk of the Valley Development Authority nor any displaced people there.

When his house in Thapathali collapsed on Saturday, Khambsingh Budhathoki was in Nawalparasi on a daily basis. When he returned, his house was completely destroyed. All his clothes and belongings were buried in the rubble. On the night he returned from Nawalparasi, he reached Dasharath Stadium in search of shelter. After registering his name there, he was taken to Kirtipur along with the management team.
He reached the stadium again on Wednesday to register his missing details. 'I could not register my name on Saturday as I did not have my citizenship. When I went today, I was told to come back on Monday,' Khambsingh told Kantipur. Not only him, but Sita Magar of Gairigaun Basti, who had gone to register her details, also returned empty-handed from the stadium gate. 'I had gone with my citizenship but they did not let me enter, they sent me back from outside,' Sita complained.
After displacing the residents of the slums by using a dozer, the Valley Development Authority had been collecting (screening) their details at Dasharath Stadium. Although the work of sending the families who came in contact to temporary shelters is underway, the authority has stopped the process since Wednesday.
Even though the collection of details was stopped, when the Kantipur team reached the stadium on Thursday, the belongings of the displaced were scattered. There was neither a desk of the Valley Development Authority nor the displaced people.
When asked about this, the authority's spokesperson Prakirna Tuladhar confirmed that the collection of details had been stopped since Wednesday. 'We have stopped this work since yesterday, we will start again from tomorrow,' he said. However, the displaced people are unaware of this. A security guard deployed there said that some of those who came to register their names were turned away from the gate. 'Yesterday too, many people had come, how can they enter when there is no one from the concerned agency inside?' The security guard said, 'They had come today too, we explained and turned them away.'
