A corruption case has been filed against 7 people, including the land revenue chief, on charges of embezzling 2 bighas and 5 dhurs of land registered in the name of the deceased by making forged documents.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case against 7 people, including the then chief of the Land Revenue Office, Bhairahawa, in a special court on Wednesday, on charges of transferring the land registered in the name of the deceased Belar Kahar of Siyari Rural Municipality-2 in Rupandehi to a fake brother by making forged documents.

After Kahar's death, the land registered in his name was transferred to the name of his close heir, his daughter Sanju Kahar, with malicious intent. The CIAA had investigated after a complaint was filed that Buddhiram Kahar was transferred to his brother with the connivance of land revenue employees by making forged documents.

During the investigation into the complaint, it was confirmed that the land was seized by making forged documents with the connivance of land revenue employees, public representatives and Buddhiram Kahar, according to CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane.

According to the CIAA, the then ward chairman of Siyari Rural Municipality Ward No. 2, Ramkishan Tharu, and the then ward member Brijnarayan Yadav had prepared documents such as relationship certificate, land deed, four-fortress certificate and recommendation stating that Buddhiram Kahar was the brother of Beler Kahar.

Based on the same fake documents, the then Chief Land Revenue Officer of the Land Revenue Office, Rupandehi Bhairahawa, Acharya, Land Revenue Officer Bhumishwar Dhakal, Nayab Subba Raju Sharma and buyer Ajit Kumar Sahni have been accused of adding false details to government records and getting the decision made. It has also been alleged that the Land Revenue Office issued false certificates/documents and registered the land in the name of Buddhiram Kahar.

The District Court Rupandehi has ordered the removal of Buddhiram Kahar from the office of Siyari Rural Municipality Ward No. 2. It has already ruled that all the documents prepared claiming that Beler is Kahar's brother, including the relationship certificate, land deed, four-kilometer certificate and recommendation, are fake and will be invalidated.

According to the commission, the defendants have systematically prepared fake documents and misused government property with the malicious intent of erasing the rights of Sanju Kahar, the heiress of the deceased Kahar. Imprisonment and fine have been demanded against them for making forged documents.
