Although the visibility in Kathmandu Valley is about 5 kilometers, one domestic and four international flights have been put on hold due to bad weather on the air route entering Kathmandu.

The planes on hold include a Buddha Air ATR aircraft coming from Bharatpur to Kathmandu, Fly Dubai from Dubai, Indigo from Mumbai, Thai Lion Air from Bangkok and Air India from Delhi.

Air Arabia from Sharjah has just landed in Kathmandu after being on hold for a long time. As of the time of filing this news, Indigo and Air India flights have also been seen on the flight radar preparing to land.

According to Devendra Shrestha, ATC chief of Kathmandu Airport, pilots had reported bad weather on the route entering Kathmandu.

The planes are on hold in the sky of Simara area, maintaining a separation between 11,500 and 17,000 feet.

So far, no plane has been diverted due to bad weather.
