A person has died in Rolpa after being struck by lightning. The death has been reported to be that of 77-year-old Lalu Wali of Tatopani Tusarbot in Parivartan Rural Municipality-4 of the district.
Police have said that a bull was also killed when lightning struck his house at 8:30 pm on Saturday. The lightning struck a tree 5 meters west of Lalu's house, damaging the house and killing the cattle. The place is about 60 kilometers northwest of Liwang.

Meanwhile, an elderly man was injured in a lightning strike in Sarlahi, while 14 cattle died when a house caught fire. Sitaram Yadav, 60, was injured in a lightning strike in Dhankaul Rural Municipality-4, Mahinathapur. The family has stated that Yadav, who was injured in the head and various parts of his body, is undergoing treatment at the Terai Hospital, Rautahat.
14 of Yadav's livestock died when lightning struck his barn. According to the police, nine goats and five buffaloes died in the lightning strike. A fire broke out in Yadav's barn after the lightning struck. The barn was completely destroyed by the fire.
