The process of selecting the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party has been postponed. The process, which was scheduled for Friday, has been postponed after the party's Central Working Committee meeting gave instructions to select the leader unanimously. 

The election process has been postponed as per the decision and instructions of the party's Central Working Committee, informed Election Committee Coordinator Prakash Rasaili. 

A task force has been formed under the coordination of Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma to unanimously select the party leader by Saturday evening, Rasaili informed. 

The Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party has stated that the election process has been postponed for now as the leader of the parliamentary party must be selected unanimously in the larger interest of the party, democracy, the constitution and to face the challenges facing the party.  

President Gagan Kumar Thapa has appointed Mohan Acharya and Vice President Sharma has appointed  Bhishma Raj Angdembe has been nominated as the party leader. Similarly, another MP Arjun Narsingh KC has also informed the leaders that he will run for the parliamentary party leader position if there is no consensus, making the party leader selection process in the Congress complicated.
