A night cricket tournament has started in Nepalgunj.
The tournament, organized by Bheri Rockers Sports Club, started on Friday evening in Bishalnagar, Nepalgunj. The tournament, which will be played with tennis balls, will be 10 overs. Club President Mohammad Sajid Khan informed that 32 teams will participate in the tournament.
The tournament was inaugurated by Lumbini Province Youth and Sports Minister Santosh Kumar Pandey. On the occasion, Minister Pandey committed to allocating the necessary budget for the development of cricket infrastructure.
Provincial MP Ambika Kafle said that there is a need for a cricket field in Nepalgunj and the ministry should take the initiative. Similarly, Ward Chairman of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-20 Kaushal Kumar Dhobi committed to providing the necessary land.
This is the fourth edition of the tournament organized by the club. According to club secretary Sahil Ansari, the tournament was organized with the support of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Lumbini Sports Council and other individuals and organizations.
