The meeting of the Nepali Congress Central Working Committee has given the responsibility of taking forward the dialogue initiative to strengthen the internal unity within the party to President Gagan Kumar Thapa. The meeting held at the central office in Lalitpur on Wednesday took strategic decisions to strengthen the organizational structure, revise policies and procedures, and form various committees to focus the party towards the general convention.
The meeting has given the responsibility of heading the party's Policy, Research and Training Institute to Vice President Bishwoprakash Sharma with the aim of making it active and effective. Similarly, Vice President Pushpa Bhusal has been appointed as the coordinator of the Election Bureau to strengthen the strategy, preparation and coordination related to the election.
A Central Membership Management Committee has been formed as per the statute with the aim of making the party's membership management transparent, systematic and up-to-date. The committee, formed under the coordination of General Secretary Pradeep Poudel, includes Joint General Secretary Yogendra Chaudhary and Prakash Rasaili Snehi as members, and arrangements have been made to add one member later. This committee will be responsible for organizing membership distribution, renewal and documentation.
Similarly, to make the party's organizational mobilization effective, an Organization Mobilization and Coordination Committee has been formed under the coordination of General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire. The committee, which has Joint General Secretary Bahadur Singh Lama and Muktakumari Yadav as members, will be responsible for strengthening organizational expansion, mobilization and coordination from the center to the local level.
The meeting has formed a 'Other Political Parties Dialogue Committee' under the coordination of central member Arjun Narsingh KC with the aim of expanding relations and institutionalizing dialogue with other political parties. It is expected that this will continue cooperation, understanding and necessary political dialogue between the parties. Similarly, a Dignity Determination Committee has been formed under the coordination of central member Chinakaji Shrestha to make the determination of the hierarchy within the party clear and systematic, which will bring uniformity in the hierarchy and formality management within the party.
The meeting has also decided to implement the ‘Public Program Operation Procedure-2083’ from 1st Jestha to make the operation of public programs more systematic, incorporating the suggestions of the provincial and district working committees. It is believed that this procedure will maintain uniformity, discipline and effectiveness while conducting the party’s formal programs.
Along with all these decisions, the meeting has focused on the goal of maintaining greater unity within the party and completing the 15th General Convention within the stipulated time. In line with the same objective, President Thapa has been given the responsibility of building consensus by communicating with all levels and factions of the party, which decision is seen as an important step towards managing the internal differences that have been seen recently.
In the meeting, the vice-presidents, general secretaries, joint general secretaries and central members expressed their views on the contemporary political situation, the internal situation of the party and strengthening the organization. The next meeting of the Central Working Committee will be held again on 3rd Baisakh at 1 pm.
