The Supreme Court has ordered the detention of former minister and Congress leader Deepak Khadka. A bench of Justices Til Prasad Shrestha and Shantisingh Thapa has also ordered that the Lalitpur District Court and the Revenue Investigation Department submit the reasons for keeping Khadka in detention until 12 noon on April 3 and fix a date for his appearance on the same day. The Supreme Court made this order while hearing a writ petition filed by Khadka's wife Binita Thapa. The order states that Khadka was arrested on March 15 on charges of money laundering.
