The traffic police have issued a ticket after the vehicle carrying Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal violated lane discipline. On Wednesday, the police car leading and following him, along with Speaker Aryal, crossed the lane in Thapathali. According to the traffic police, the drivers of all three vehicles have been issued tickets after reaching the Singha Durbar premises.
According to Speaker Aryal's personal secretary Nawaraj Pandey, he said that the lane discipline was violated because he was a new driver. Informing Kantipur about the incident, personal secretary Pandey said, 'We were coming to Singha Durbar from Bhainsepati. The Speaker had told the previous driver to always wait at the red light. There was nothing left to tell the new driver.' Speaker Aryal also told the traffic police to take action against the general public, Pandey informed.
Violating lane discipline will result in a fine of 500 for the first time, 1000 for the second time, and 1,500 for the third or more times.
Mandatory awareness classes will also be required for violations of drunkenness, red lights, lane discipline, and speeding.
