A 7-year-old girl from Narharinath-3 has been raped. Police have said that a 17-year-old boy raped her on Tuesday afternoon when no one was home.

The boy, who had come to visit when no one was home, raped the girl, said Ganesh Gyawali, Information Officer of the District Police Office. According to him, both the perpetrator and the victim belong to the Dalit community.

‘On New Year’s Day, after having breakfast, the girl went to work in the fields of her maternal uncle and cousin. He raped her in the afternoon,’ said Information Officer Gyawali. ‘He let the girl watch cartoons on her mobile phone to seduce her when no one was home. Then he committed the crime.’ Both the girl’s parents are in India. The girl, who was living with her maternal uncle, has been taken into police custody after a complaint was filed with the police that the boy, who lives in Narharinath-4, was raped by the boy.

The girl's grandfather filed a rape case against the teenager on Wednesday. 'He wasted the opportunity when no one was home,' said the girl's grandfather, 'We are related, even if we are related, we should not leave such sinners.'

The girl was brought to the District Hospital Manma via Yogi Narharinath Basic Hospital, Kumalgaun, for medical treatment, and the teenager has been kept at the District Police Office, Manma via Kumalgaun, IPR.

The girl was brought to the hospital in a state of blood loss and referred to Manma for further treatment, said Yogi Narharinath Basic Hospital Chief Dr. Shivnath Yadav. He informed that since it appeared that she had been raped, the girl was sent to the Kalikot District Hospital for further treatment.
