The special court has sentenced six people to imprisonment and fines for corruption in the construction of the Bitthad playground in Bitthadchir Rural Municipality-1 of Bajhang.
A bench of judges Narayan Prasad Poudel, Dilliratna Shrestha and Bidur Koirala has convicted former acting chief administrative officer of the rural municipality Chakradev Bhatta, then sub-engineer Ganeshraj Upadhyay, then accountant Harkadev Joshi, Dipendra Bahadur Bohora, Bir Bahadur Bohora and Nilam Bhandari and sentenced them to three months in prison. The special court has convicted Dipendra, Bir Bahadur and Nilam in the Matiyar case. The verdict states that they will be fined Rs 2 lakh 44 thousand 417.

A budget of Rs 50 lakh was allocated from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Rs 1.5 lakh from the Parliamentarian Development Fund for the construction of the playground. The Authority claims that they colluded and planned to take illegal benefits. A fine of Rs 1.466 million was imposed against them.
