Gyan Bahadur Shahi, the leader of the parliamentary party of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, has accused the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party of being deceived by the largest party in the House of Representatives. He said that he was deceived by the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party during the election of the Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives' meeting on Friday. Shahi made this statement while presenting the proposal of the party's candidate Saraswati Lama for the post of Deputy Speaker. Shahi said that he put forward a candidate from the party for the post of Deputy Speaker after receiving assurances from Rashtriya Prajatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane. He has expressed his complaint against President Lamichhane. Shahi says that he was deceived about the nomination of the Deputy Speaker candidate from the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party. 'As they say, everything is fair in love and war, I understand the harsh reality that assurances and deception are also fair in politics.' Now I am learning to understand signals more than words, because words do matter,' Shahi said, 'Despite the differences in party and ideology, I express my gratitude for this political culture that I have always considered an ideal person.'

Shahi said that while making Lama a candidate for the post of Deputy Speaker, there was a discussion with the RPP President and the candidate was made from the tribal community. 'After the proposal came from the largest party in the parliament, we had reached the decision to file our candidacy considering the possibility of polarization between other old political parties and us, the political party seeking change. Yesterday (Thursday) morning, on the one hand, other opposition parties were conducting discussions bypassing the RPP in the discussion regarding the election of the Deputy Speaker, while on the other hand, after receiving assurances of support from the RPP President, we filed our candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker with the unanimous decision of the RPP parliamentary party,' Shahi said, 'Today's candidacy has made a clear line in politics. Although the signboards of the so-called old political parties of yesterday and the new political parties that have emerged as new ones are different, it is clear that the core of their policies, principles and ideas is connected to the same place.'

Shahi had reiterated that he had assured the RPP to put forward a candidate. Shahi also said that the RPP was deprived of supporting the Deputy Speaker candidate of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Ruby Thakur, due to the betrayal of the RPP.
