Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Ravi Lamichhane has urged Prime Minister Balendra Shah to remove Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah from his post for acting against party discipline.
The Central Disciplinary Commission had recommended action to President Lamichhane for Minister Sah's nomination of Mrs. Junu Shrestha as a member of the Health Insurance Board against party discipline and code of conduct. Based on the same recommendation, President Lamichhane has recommended to Prime Minister Shah.
'The study of the party's Central Disciplinary Commission has revealed that the Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security, Hon. Deepak Kumar Sah, abused his position as a minister and made his wife a regular member of the Health Insurance Board, which had been inactive for a long time, and I would like to inform you that a letter dated 25 Chaitra 2082 has been received from the commission for necessary action. This has tarnished the image, ideals, principles and dignity of the party,' Lamichhane said.
Lamichhane has also mentioned in the recommendation letter that Article 25 (4) (a) of the party constitution of the Nepali Congress Party (NCP) entrusts the party president with the responsibility to prevent the party's ideals, principles and dignity from being tarnished, and Article 69 of the constitution provides for the party to recall the party from responsibility (right to recall) in case of misuse of the position. The commission also stated that when asked for information on the matter, Minister Sah was reluctant to provide clear information, provided incomplete and false information.
