Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced that Israel supports the United States' decision to suspend its military action against Iran for two weeks. But it said the ceasefire would not apply to the war in Lebanon.  In a statement released by Netanyahu on Wednesday, X said, "Israel supports US President Donald Trump's efforts to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile or terrorist threat to the United States, Israel, Arab countries and the world."

The US statement to Israel said it was committed to achieving the goals set in talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Friday.

But the two-week ceasefire "does not include Lebanon," the statement said.

Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the US, Iran and their allies had "agreed to an immediate ceasefire in all areas, including Lebanon and elsewhere." Sharif said the move would take effect immediately.
