The only candidacy for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives is that of Dol Prasad Aryal, Deputy Chairman of the National Independent Party (NISP). The time for registration of candidacy for the post of Speaker was fixed from 11 am to 2 pm today at Kathghar No. 1 of the Federal Parliament Secretariat. Only Aryal's candidacy was registered during that period.
Aryal's candidacy is proposed by NISP President and MP Ravi Lamichhane and supported by MPs Swarnim Wagle, Sobita Gautam and Sunil Lamsal.
Since only one proposal has been submitted, the proposing members will present the proposal in the meeting to be held on 22 Chaitra and the supporting members will support it, so only one proposal has been submitted, said Ekram Giri, Joint Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.
Now, a proposal to 'be elected as the Speaker' is scheduled to be presented for decision in the meeting of the House of Representatives to be held at 11 am on Sunday.
