RPP parliamentary party leader Gyan Bahadur Shahi has urged the government to be accountable to the people and effectively implement the rule of law.
In today's meeting of the House of Representatives, he suggested that the government should be accountable to the people and move forward for the prosperity of the country.
MP Shahi stressed the need to investigate the truth and facts of the incidents that took place during the Genji movement on Bhadra 23 and 24. Stating that governance should be based on democratic values and norms, he said that the people's hope and trust should not be extinguished and should be strengthened. 'Despite the many changes in the system in Nepal, the situation of the people has not changed as expected,' he said, 'All corruption files in the country should be opened and work should be done accordingly as there has been not only a change of party but also a change of generation in the recent past.'
He stressed that victims of incidents like Nirmala Panta and Inisha BK should get justice in a timely manner. He also said that employment opportunities should be created for the youth in the country.
Demanding that citizenship be provided to members of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), MP Shahi said that all parties should unite to maintain good governance and the rule of law.
