Amid rising tension and suspension of regular air services in the Gulf region, the Nepal government on Thursday decided to operate special flights to facilitate the evacuation and movement of Nepali citizens there.

The decision was taken in a high-level meeting led by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, with the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and Nepal Airlines Corporation. The meeting discussed in detail the safe evacuation of Nepalis in West Asia, ease of movement and operation of essential air services.

As per the directives of Minister Khanal, Nepal Airlines will operate special flights from 3 to 5 April. Due to the prevailing security situation in West Asia, regular flights in those regions have been suspended since 28 February 2026.

According to the special flight schedule, Kathmandu-Dubai flights will be operated on 3 April, Dubai-Kathmandu on 4 April, Kathmandu-Dammam on 5 April, and Dammam-Kathmandu on 5 April.

The government has stated in a statement that it is committed to the safety and welfare of Nepali citizens abroad and will continue to take necessary steps.
