The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order on a writ petition filed against Congress' Arjun Narsingh KC and UML's Padma Aryal, seeking to prevent them from working as MPs.

Writ petitioner Mahato had filed a writ petition against KC and Aryal, alleging that they repeatedly benefited from positions from the Khas Arya cluster. Mahato had sought an interim order, demanding that the two individuals be barred from working as MPs, saying they had repeatedly taken advantage of ministerial positions and flouted the proportional representation system.
