Former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal has been arrested.

He was arrested from his residence in Baneshwor on Tuesday morning, confirmed Ishwor Karki, Chief of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari. He said, 'A team deployed from the Crime Investigation Office of the Valley has taken him under control.'

He was arrested while implementing the report on the Gen-G movement of 23 and 24 Bhadra. Earlier, former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak have been arrested .

Criminal action was recommended against the then Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Armed Inspector General Raju Aryal, the then National Investigation Department Chief Hutraj Thapa and the then CDO of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal under Section 182 of the Criminal Code.

Section 182 states that 'no one shall be killed by any act of negligence'. It is said that it can be imprisoned for up to 3 years and a fine of up to 30 thousand rupees. The cabinet meeting had decided to form a separate study committee for security personnel and act according to its recommendations.
