Kathmandu District Court has refused to issue an arrest warrant against UML leader Mahesh Basnet. The police had sought permission to arrest leader Basnet in the court on Monday.
According to the Kathmandu District Court, a warrant was sought to arrest him but it was decided not to issue one.
A rape case was registered against Basnet on 25 Chaitra 2080. But the government prosecutor decided to keep the case on hold, citing insufficient evidence.
