Former Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister and Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak have been produced before the Kathmandu District Court. The arguments for the extension of the remand of both the arrested in the incidents related to the Gen-G movement on Bhadra 23 and 24 have begun. Based on the report given by the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission, Oli and Lekhak were arrested from Bhaktapur on Saturday morning. The arguments for their extension are being heard in the bench of District Court Judge Anand Shrestha. The government has demanded that Oli and Lekhak be kept in custody for 10 days for investigation. The arguments have been made by senior advocate and MP Khamma Bahadur Khati and senior advocate Harihar Dahal on behalf of both the detainees. Similarly, senior advocates Tikaram Bhattarai, Gopal Krishna Ghimire, and Sher Bahadur KC have also registered their names to argue the case.
