Narendra Bhandari resigned from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hetauda Cement Industry on Sunday. He was appointed as the Chairman for a three-year term on 27 Jestha 2081.

Bhandari sent his resignation to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies via email. ‘In view of the current changing political situation, I submit my resignation from the post of Chairman with effect from Sunday,’ the resignation letter submitted to the ministry states.

Hetauda Cement is currently continuing its clinker production. Chairman Bhandari said that it is very challenging to keep the industry operational despite old machinery, technological limitations and extreme financial shortage.

‘Despite repeated requests to the Ministry for loans and grants to manage the capital and current expenses necessary to ensure regular supply of spare parts and raw materials and make the industry competitive with other cement industries in terms of price and quality, concrete policy directives and necessary financial management have not been made,’ he said.
