The body of 16-year-old Inisha BK has not been found for 22 days. Relatives and locals staged a sit-in in front of the district court on Sunday, demanding a fair investigation into the death.
The participants in the sit-in have demanded that the truth of the incident be made public and strict action be taken against the culprits. They have expressed distrust in the investigation and have pressed for a fair and transparent process.
The family has been expressing doubts about Inisha's death on Falgun 23 from the beginning. Expressing dissatisfaction with the post-mortem report, the family is demanding a re-investigation. Inisha's body is still kept in the morgue of the provincial hospital.
The victim's family has expressed dissatisfaction with the post-mortem report itself. ‘I have been suspicious from the beginning, I have been suspicious of the postmortem report after finding my daughter in such a state,’ said Inisha’s mother Tila, ‘Not only this report, but if other reports come out like this, we will launch an agitation.’
Indra Bahadur, the father, who came to Nepal after the news of his daughter’s death, said that his leave from the company was about to end. ‘It has been 22 days since my daughter died,’ he said, ‘I am starting to doubt that my daughter will get justice.’
The family says that the police have not yet openly informed about the incident. ‘It seems that the incident will become even more mysterious,’ said Indra Bahadur, ‘The report has also been shown to be normal, it is not known what investigations have been carried out. I am starting to wonder whether my daughter will not get justice.’ Four teams of Nepal Police, including the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), have already investigated the incident.
