Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will remain at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

After the police arrested him from Gundu on Saturday morning, he was taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a health check-up. Doctors said that Oli should be kept under observation and treated after the initial examination.

Kathmandu Police Spokesperson Pawan Bhattarai told Kantipur that he was then admitted to the hospital. Doctors said that he should be kept in the hospital due to heart and kidney problems.

The police will now keep him under observation at the hospital while further legal proceedings proceed. Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak will also be produced in court on Sunday and remanded for further investigation.

According to security officials, this is the first case of a former Prime Minister-level person being arrested in the investigation of a murder-related crime.

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung had discussed with the security chief till midnight on Friday after the government decided to implement the report of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led commission. This was followed by the arrest.
